Redefining Success
Confidence doesn’t always arrive with a bold entrance. Sometimes, it builds quietly, step by step, as we show up for ourselves day after day. From a career mom to a stay at home mom, the transition was ruthless to say the least. We become unsure of ourselves, the impact or difference we’re making, and wondering how we can better our day tomorrow. The first two years deciding to stay home with small children made me doubt my self confidence. But I’ve recently learned- confidence isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about trusting that you can figure it out along the way.
I’ve always had big dreams. In school, they ask you to create a 5 year plan. Where will you be? How can you accomplish it? Can you get it done faster? As a xennial, I’m not sure what drove the anxiety and competition more: the game of perfection, or comparing your goals and accomplishments to someone else’s. And I'm here to tell you, it’s ok not to have it figured out.
You don’t need to be fearless to reach your goals, you just need to be willing. Willing to try, willing to learn, and willing to believe that you’re capable of more than you know. The road may not always be smooth, but growth rarely is. We often stumble, fall, and hurt our confidence trying. What matters most is that you keep going, keep learning, and keep believing in the version of yourself you’re becoming.
